Owner
What it is
An Owner keeps and cares for a pet: training, rewarding, fussing and looking after them.
What it can look like
Collaring a partner. Using a pet name. Training with treats and praise. Brushing, feeding or playing with them like a pet.
Often pairs with
Pet.
Not the same as
Master or Mistress. Owning a pet is usually more playful and affectionate than strict.
Doing it safely
Pets still need breaks, water and a human voice. Agree how your pet says stop when they're not using words, like a tap or a set noise.
Talking about it
"Would you want to be my pet? I'd love to look after you."
